MY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
After over a year of hard work and planning, I have officially launched my own Real Estate brokerage: Pivot Homes Northwest!
I will forever be grateful for your support and encouragement as I step into my new role as a small business owner and even more thankful for your business and/or any referrals you send my way!
Why the name choice? I realize the word PIVOT has become a familiar term of the course of the pandemic, but I had actually wrote this name in my business planning notebook early last spring while I was sulking from losing my job. I had a book called “Pivot” The Art & Science of Reinventing Your Career and Your Life" by Adam Markel (read it btw!) on my desk that I kept staring at as I was filing for unemployment for the first time in my entire life. I kept thinking it’s such a weird word that you don’t hear too often and me being of the inquisitive personality type, I googled it.
Among a few different definitions I found this one at MerriamWebster.com:
“an adjustment or modification made (as to a product, service, or strategy) in order to adapt or improve”
Then I saw this: A pivot in a business is a fundamental change of direction after the realization that your current products or services aren't meeting the needs of the market.
And last but not least: Pivots in your life don't mean failure. They mean opportunity and they stand for visions. They include your crazy ideas and new beginnings. Pivoting is for the dreams you never thought could come true but can and should.
WOW. That hit home big time. However, I already had a working name that I had ordered a logo for and purchased the domain and not wanting to waste money, I simply wrote it down and moved on. Months later though I just couldn’t shake loose of it so I asked a couple people what they thought of a name change and all of a sudden it was like the age old adage of flipping a coin - When you flip the coin, you’ll instinctively think “tails, tails, tails, tails!”
Whether you choose to or not, your mind will go to the decision it wants. And so Pivot Homes Northwest was born.
